Ministers Council Calls The Rev. Michele R.C. Turek as Program Administrator

WEST CHESTER, PA (ABNS 2/7/22)—
The Ministers Council of American Baptist Churches USA celebrates the call of Rev. Michele R.C. Turek, who will serve as the organization’s Program Administrator beginning February 15, 2022.

“As the Ministers Council continues to adapt to our changing world, we are excited to welcome Rev. Michele Turek,” said Randolph T. Miller, president of the Ministers Council. “She brings the gifts and spirit we need to assist us in navigating these unusual times. Already familiar with much of our broader American Baptist family, we believe her calling is ‘for such a time as this.’”

Turek shares her anticipation for this work: “I am excited to enter into this administrative ministry for the Ministers Council. Our pastors, counselors, chaplains, and lay leaders are on the front lines of local ministry. To be able to care for them, to invest in their overall health, and to help create an encouraging community for our ABC family is a vision I happily join. I look forward to working with the Leadership Team to make the good work of the Ministers Council possible.”

Turek resides in Fresno, Calif., with her husband Adam and two young sons, Matthias and Aaron. She earned her Master of Divinity degree from Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary and was ordained, through the American Baptist denomination, in 2017. With over fifteen years of ministry experience serving the local church, Michele now serves as the Field Operations Director for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship’s Graduate & Faculty Ministries in the Western Region. She is also the current Administration Coordinator for the Alliance of Asian American Baptist Churches (formerly the Asian Caucus), an organization that works towards the advocacy, equipping, and fellowship of our Asian American Baptist brothers and sisters.

The search concludes after a nine-month process of interviews and discernment. “We wish to express our gratitude to Linda Miller for her interim care of the Ministers Council for the last seven months, and we wish her blessings as she returns to the retired life,” says Rev. Jacki Belile, Chair of the Search Committee. For more information, contact Rev. Randolph T. Miller at info@ministerscouncil.com.

American Baptist Churches USA is one of the most diverse Christian denominations today, with approximately 5,000 congregations comprised of 1.3 million members, across the United States and Puerto Rico, all engaged in God’s mission around the world.
