Is your congregation curious about creation care? Do you want to hear about the creation centered ministry American Baptists are engaged in? The Creation Justice Network announces the debut of its Creation Justice Congregations Conversation Series. Launched in June 2019, the Creation Justice Congregations program is designed to encourage and support congregations as they discern what the embodiment of creation care ministry looks like in their unique context. In this prerecorded Conversation Series, join ABCUSA Creation Justice Network Steering Committee member Rev. Rebecca Driscoll and explore with different congregations how each has woven creation care into its church life through preaching sermons, teaching Vacation Bible School curricula, forming Green Teams, planting community gardens, installing solar panels and organizing beach clean-up days. Join us to learn about meaningful work being done by our American Baptist congregations.
The third conversation features the Rev. Betsy Sowers, who serves as the Minister for Earth Justice at Old Cambridge Baptist Church in Cambridge, Mass. Listen to the conversation below:
Stories invited: Share your story!
Do you have a story to tell about the ways you see God moving in the natural world? The Creation Justice Network would love to hear about each congregation’s story and experience with creation justice ministry, and share that story with the larger American Baptist community. We invite you to share your journey and experience of creation care with us. We celebrate all of the ways our faith calls us to serve as the hands and feet of Christ for the care of God’s creation, and so we encourage you to consider all of the creative options available to you when telling your story, including pictures and videos. If you would like to share the story of your congregation in our Creation Justice Congregations Conversation Series with us and inspire likeminded congregations, please send it to Rev. Rebecca Driscoll, ABC Minister for Creation Justice at Rebecca.Driscoll@abc-usa.org.
