- A prayer from Harriett Pratt:
“No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plaque come near your dwelling” Psalm 91:10Lord, Please heal our land…2 Chronicles 7:14. Lord, protect those working on the frontlines serving the sick and those in essential services and ministries. Lord, let all Christian and churches reach-out with hope and love while people’s hearts are open. Lord, Lord, please use us to bless others in Jesus’ name as we prepare for Easter Resurrection Sunday. Amen. - Untitled:
I am the light that God shines through
He and I are one not two
I need not fret, nor fear, nor plan
He needs me now right where I am
And if I’ll be relaxed and free
He’ll carry out His Plan for me.
- A prayer from Colette Boston:
Dear Heavenly Father as we approach your throne of grace, we thank you for our lives and our ability to be in our right minds. We also thank you for the gifts of praise and prayer. Please be with our families in this time of distress and need as well as ourselves. We ask you to heal our nation and to forgive us of anything that hinders us from being in your presence. Lord, many people are suffering. Some because of the COVID -19 virus. Others because of the enforcement of being in their homes. Still others are fearful of what the future holds. Calm their hearts and minds. Let them be assured that you will never leave them nor forsake them. As the song says, “In times like these we need a Saviour” and we certainly need you. Your presence brings such peace. Give us that peace! We thank you in advance for answering our prayer. As we linger, a little longer, be with the essential workers and their immune systems. Be with our pastors and with their families. Bless and keep them. Be with us and our finances. It is said in your word, “I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken and their seed begging bread.“ Amen and amen. Be with us today and every day we pray, especially be with our minds that can play tricks on us and our immune systems. We thank you and praise your holy name. Amen and amen.

We need to be praying:
for each other
for God to direct our response to this pandemic (We ought not to respond in fear but love,)
for God’s Spirit to move among our secular leaders and communities opening them to the saving power of the Gospel
for our Christian witness to our neighbors.
for those infected by the coronavirus in China and around the world.
with gratitude for those who care for them and their protection from this disease.
with gratitude for health specialists and authorities who are combating the spread of infection.
for government officials and leaders to have the wisdom necessary to make necessary and informed decisions out of care for the public good, particularly the most vulnerable.
for all who at this time are feeling anxious.
- From Scott Linscott, Pastor, First Baptist Church of Westbrook, Maine:
“SOME ADVICE FROM MARTIN LUTHER? When Martin Luther was dealing with The Black Death, he wrote these wise words that can help inform the way we approach things happening in our world right now…”I shall ask God mercifully to protect us. Then I shall fumigate, help purify the air, administer medicine and take it. I shall avoid places and persons where my presence is not needed in order not to become contaminated and thus perchance inflict and pollute others and so cause their death as a result of my negligence. If God should wish to take me, he will surely find me and I have done what he has expected of me and so I am not responsible for either my own death or the death of others. If my neighbor needs me however I shall not avoid place or person but will go freely as stated above. See this is such a God-fearing faith because it is neither brash nor foolhardy and does not tempt God.”Luther’s Works Volume 43 pg 132 the letter “Whether one may flee from a Deadly Plague” written to Rev. Dr. John Hess
