VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 2/1/19)—For women who are feeling overlooked, misjudged, or unappreciated, award-winning editor Deborah Spink Winters wants you to know that “you are not alone.” In her new book, Marginalized, Maligned & Miraculous Women in Scripture, Winters and her coauthors explore the stories of women in the Bible who have dealt with these emotions and reveal insights about God and human nature that offer opportunities for you to connect, reflect, and learn.
Marginalized, Maligned & Miraculous Women in Scripture examines biblical women from the beloved matriarchs Sarah and Rebekah to the little-known Rizpah and Sheerah, from the maligned figures of Jezebel and Michal to the unnamed women known only by their foreign status. This provocative collection of small-group studies will help readers:
• Rediscover known and lesser-known biblical characters
• Understand how their stories intersect with the stories of others
• Learn from the challenges faced by women, then and now
• Be inspired to live victoriously by faith
This resource is written by a diverse group of contributors from a variety of denominations and cultures. Featuring questions for personal reflection or small-group study, the chapters may be used individually or as one of three 5-week studies. Ideal for women pursuing a faith-filled approach to life’s trials and triumphs.
