VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 7/31/15)—On August 1, 2015, the website for the Judson Press & American Baptist Women’s Ministries Sisters of Scripture Essay Contest opens for entrants. Contestants can visit the WordPress site https://sistersofscripturemnw.wordpress.com/ to find information about the contest rules, guidelines, and submissions.
The Sisters of Scripture Essay Contest is inspired by the book Sisters of Scripture: Mentors in Womanhood by Billie Montgomery/Cook. The essay theme “Who is the Ruth or Deborah in Your Life” mirrors the book’s focus on mentors, and how the women of today can learn from the women of the Bible.
The contest is open to American Baptist women who are 17 to 35 years old. The grand prize winner will receive the Elva S. Riggins scholarship for $1,000 in honor of the mother of Judson Press CEO, Dr. Aidsand Wright-Riggins III. One runner-up will be awarded a $500 scholarship. The deadline for essay submissions is September 15, 2015.
Sisters of Scripture: Mentors in Womanhood retails for $14.99 and is available from Judson Press by calling 800-458-3766 or ordering online at www.judsonpress.com.
