VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 4/13/15)—American Baptists attending the Hampton University Ministers’ Conference in June are invited to attend an annual ABC Reception on June 10, 2015. This ABC Reception will occur during the 101st Hampton University Ministers’ Conference, June 7-12, 2015, in Hampton, Virginia.
American Baptists are invited to come together for the ABC Reception on Wednesday, June 10, at 9:30 p.m. (immediately following the evening service). Attendees will gather in Conference Room A of the Hampton Roads Conference Center, adjoining the Embassy Suites, 1700 Coliseum Drive, Hampton, Virginia, for a time of fellowship, networking, and sharing resources around American Baptist life.
This year’s reception theme of “Confirming the Message” is drawn from the conference text of Mark 16:20. The ABC Reception planning team desires to be more widely inclusive this year and has invited all the major ABC partners to participate. American Baptist attendees will want to be present to experience all the ways in which our ABC family is confirming, sharing, and strengthening the message of Christ. The planning team is also preparing a keepsake for attendees. The objective of the evening is to celebrate our unity and to show our strength in this unity as we serve as the hands and feet of Christ all across the world.
Whether or not you have attended this reception in the past, we invite you to be present this year and connect with your ABC family in this spiritually rich and empowering setting. We especially urge pastors to invite others, including choirs and musical directors, an intrinsic part of this Hampton experience.
The theme of the 2015 Hampton University Ministers’ Conference is “Preaching Forward, Forward Preaching: Preaching Everywhere.”
American Baptist Churches is one of the most diverse Christian denominations today, with over 5,200 local congregations comprised of 1.3 million members, across the United States and Puerto Rico, all engaged in God’s mission around the world.
