I encourage all American Baptists to be a neighbor this week. Be the kind of neighbor that Jesus taught us to be. No matter what happens this week, it will be a difficult week for some. Reach out to others via email, chat, twitter, and other forms of social media. Let’s wear ourselves out asking the questions, “Are you ok?”, “Do you need anything?”, “I care about you,” and “I see you.”
As American Baptists, we are an expression of the Body of Christ and we strive to create the Beloved Community. “Each of us must please our neighbor for the good purpose of building up the neighbor…May the God of steadfastness and encouragement grant you to live in harmony with one another, in accordance with Christ Jesus, so that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 15: 2, 5, 6)
