The Generosity Project Webinar “Stewardship and Pandemic” Announced

VALLEY FORGE, PA (7/7/20)—The American Baptist Churches USA Office of the General Secretary announces an upcoming webinar, “Stewardship and Pandemic,” Thursday, July 23 at 1:00pm EDT. The webinar is a part of The Generosity Project, an Office of the General Secretary initiative which examines the challenge of stewardship in the 21st century and looks at learning how to re-frame the conversation around stewardship.

Stewardship and Pandemic” will explore the dynamics of mission and ministry, and the stewardship that undergirds it, in uncharted territory.  In recent months, we have been living in a time unlike any other we have experienced. As pastors and congregations, we have been forced to navigate a land we have never been to without a map, without a guide, and for most of us, without a plan.  We are learning as we go.

The webinar attendees will reflect on key questions inspired by the living of these days in the midst of a global pandemic:

  • What is the “meaningful work” we are discovering in this time of pandemic?  What is being asked of us as people of faith during this rupture in history?
  • What innovative mission and ministry are being inspired by events happening in our country?
  • What do we need to leave behind in order to navigate the portal to a more vital, vibrant future in our churches, communities, and country?
  • How can we nurture the imagination of our congregations, pastors, and church leaders to create this new future?
