Summer 2013 Conference for Those Considering a Call to Global Mission Service

VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 4/18/13)—Registration has opened for the 2013 “Embrace the Cause” retreat sponsored by American Baptist International Ministries (IM) . This three-day event is designed for singles, families and couples who are considering a call to serve as global missionaries, and is scheduled for August 9 -12, 2013 at the Green Lake Conference Center in Green Lake, Wisconsin.

This high-intensity, focused weekend is designed to provide practical knowledge about:

  • what it takes to be in global mission service,
  • what are the biggest joys and challenges,
  • how to discern God’s call on one’s life,
  • what background is needed/required,
  • and how to get started.

Attendees will learn from experienced missionaries and have open and frank discussions with recruiters who have current and future openings for global servants.

Prayer, worship, inspirational messages, interactive sessions and personal reflection time will combine to make this a powerful discernment experience. No matter where an attendee is in the process, they’ll leave with a clear understanding of next steps.

The cost for the three-day conference is $80; meals and housing are an additional expense. To register, call the Green Lake Conference Center at (920) 294-3323. Limited scholarships are available from IM. Write to recruitment@internationalministries.org or call 800 222-3872 ext. 2245.
