VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 4/18/13)—American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) will host “Reconnect, Renew, Re-envision”—a young adult gathering to precede the American Baptist Churches USA (ABCUSA) Mission Summit/Biennial—June 20 and 21, 2013, at Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites, Overland Park/Kansas City, Kan.
The purpose is for young adults aged 16-29 to reconnect with each other and the ongoing ministries of ABHMS; renew their commitment to acts of discipleship, community and justice in the local church and denomination; and re-envision ABHMS’ ministries for this generation. In addition, they will be welcome to participate in guided Mission Summit experiences.
Highlights will include worship, scheduled social time, a hands-on mission activity and roundtable discussions about the scope and design of ABHMS’ future ministries for youth and young adults.
The $50 fee per participant includes housing for events before and during Mission Summit; Mission Summit registration; and all meals, except the pre-Mission Summit breakfast. Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from Overland Park/Kansas City. Participants must be at least aged 16 by or on June 1, 2013.
