VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 9/26/12)—Some say social media is for the young, but that hasn’t kept 188-year-old Judson Press from becoming fully engaged. No stranger to Facebook, Twitter, author blog tours, webinars, and podcasts, on October 1, 2012, Judson Press will officially enter the blogosphere with JudsOnline, its new blog.
This daily blog is intended to be a gathering place for readers and writers of moderate Christian views and ministry resources. Judson Press is a ministry of American Baptist Home Mission Societies, and available to all who share its mission of Christian discipleship, community and justice.
Each month JudsOnline will feature significant events, themes and seasons in the life of Christians and local congregations. Daily entries will include:
• Book reviews and excerpts
• Author profiles
• Guest posts
• Midweek meditations
These posts will share mission information, ministry tips, cultural reflections from a Christian perspective, and insights for Christian living, accompanied by:
• Webinar invitations
• Blog tour updates
• Seasonal and holiday promotions
• Book discounts
• And more
Publisher Laura Alden sees JudsOnline as part of the publisher’s mission in “equipping God’s people for the work of ministry . . . building up the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12), and invites readers to share their comments and submit guest posts.
During the month of October, JudsOnline will highlight Hispanic Heritage, Domestic Violence Awareness, and Campus Ministry, and will give away its inspirational gift set for pastors in celebration of Pastoral Appreciation Month.
