VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 2/25/11)—American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) asks pastors and church leaders to watch their postal mailboxes for a soon-to-arrive packet regarding ABHMS activities planned for the American Baptist Churches USA (ABCUSA) 2011 Biennial June 24-26 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The packet features an enticing, full-color poster and reproducible bulletin insert. The poster is meant for placement on a bulletin board or other high-traffic area of a church, and the insert is to be photocopied for inclusion in church bulletins and any other American Baptist-related communications.
In addition, the bulletin insert and a smaller version of the poster are available for free download on ABHMS’ Web site at www.abhms.org > Biennial 2011.
The information in the materials should be shared with all church members and other ABCUSA family members as soon as possible so that plans can be made to attend the Biennial—an event of significance to all American Baptist faithful.
The insert provides details about a variety of ABHMS mission and learning activities in Puerto Rico before, during and after the Biennial, including fulfilling hands-on volunteer opportunities; a multimedia luncheon experience featuring a unique urban ministry; presentations by American Baptist guest speakers devoted to discipleship, community and justice across the United States and Puerto Rico; and the multicultural and educational American Baptist Latino Pavilion (Pabellón Latino Bautista Americano).
For more information about the Biennial or to register, visit ABHMS’ Web site at www.abhms.org > Biennial 2011.
