Dr. Richard M. Jones, who retired as deputy executive director in 1991 after 36 years of service to American Baptist National Ministries, died on Friday, May 8, following a fall several days earlier. He was 81.
Rev. Dr. Donald C. Anderson, executive minister of the Rhode Island State Council of Churches (RISCC), will receive the Luke Mowbray Ecumenical Award of the American Baptist Churches USA (ABCUSA) at its Biennial Meeting, June 26-28 in Pasadena, CA.
Dr. Kenneth Blazier, a longtime American Baptist leader, passed away on May 4, at the age of 76. Among other roles, Blazier served as national director of the Ministers-at-Large Program (now Interim Ministries) of the American Baptist Churches USA.

Robert and Margene Phares, active members of their community and their church—First Baptist Church of North Platte, NE—are the recipients of the prestigious Cora and John Sparrowk President’s Award of the American Baptist Churches USA (ABCUSA).
